building .square

30 06 2008

In the counterculture movements that started in the 1940s and took momentum in the 1960s a “square” referred to someone who clung to repressive, traditional, stereotypical, one-sided, or “in the box” ways of thinking. The term was used by hipsters in the 40s, beatniks in the 50s, hippies in the 60s, yippies in the 70s, and other individuals who took part in the movements which emerged to contest the more conservative national, political, religious, philosophical, musical and social trends. It was in this context that Sly and the Family Stone’s trumpet player Cynthia Robinson yelled out in the hit “Dance to the Music”: “All the squares go home!”

In modern usage it can be used to describe a person who leads a lawful existence, particularly in regard to employment.

building .erection

28 06 2008

In the presence of mechanical stimulation, erection is initiated. The ability to maintain the erectile state is key to the reproductive system and many forms of life could not reproduce in a natural way without this ability.

building .industrial bunker

27 06 2008

Typical industrial bunkers include mining sites, food storage areas, dumps for materials, data storage, and sometimes living quarters. They were built mainly by nations like Germany during World War II to protect important industries from aerial bombardment. Industrial bunkers are also built for control rooms of dangerous activities, e.g. tests of rocket engines or explosive experiments. They are also built in order to perform dangerous experiments in them or to store radioactive or explosive goods. Such bunkers also exist on non-military facilities.

building .infinity

27 06 2008

Infinity (symbolically represented with ∞) comes from the Latin infinitas or “unboundedness.” It refers to several distinct concepts (usually linked to the idea of “without end”) which arise in philosophy, mathematics, and theology.

In mathematics, “infinity” is often used in contexts where it is treated as if it were a number (i.e., it counts or measures things: “an infinite number of terms”) but it is a different type of “number” from the real numbers. Infinity is related to limits, aleph numbers, classes in set theory, Dedekind-infinite sets, large cardinals,[1] Russell’s paradox, non-standard arithmetic, hyperreal numbers, projective geometry, extended real numbers and the absolute Infinite.

So I had this idea in mind for a couple of weeks now, kind of a follow-up to my last video, it is almost the same technique and gives a similar result, but without any story, i focused more on the facial expressions with this one, give it a look if you want, i’ll post my favorite 4 frames in the next post.

Aberration .strange_being

17 06 2008

Dinofuck has just released the aberration project, finally. My work in this project was a strange follow up to my therorical kids project. This kid or “being” is the bad fruit of a fake relationship between a kid (me) and his mother. Here’s the result and a link to the official project page on dinofuck.

Métro .Beaubien

13 06 2008

Dinofuck, after releasing the abberation project, will start working on the “métro project”. The goal of this will be to go around the whole Montréal subway system to seek at least an image for each single station. I decided to take a small headstart with my “homestation”, so this is my first shot for the Beaubien station which is on the orange line.
